Is a Registry Fix Download Worth Your Money? Read This Registry Fix Review Now for the Answer Registry Fix 6.2 is latest version of the registry repair utility and is the one reviewed below. Is your computer extremely slow? Would you like to stop computer crashes? Do you experience computer freezes on a consistent basis? If you are like me, you may have already purchased and utilized spyware and virus software to cure the problem just to have the same issues still. If so, you can turn to products like Registry Fix software to help solve the issue. There are two Registry Fix reviews on this page. The "Quick Review" is for you if you don't need a ton of details in order to make a decision and want to just get your problem fixed. If you want a detailed description of Registry Fix, see the "Detailed Review" below to answer all of your product questions. Quick Review: Registry Fix was the second highest priced PC registry repair product ($37.00) of all of the products reviewed on this site. My curiosity was surely elevated as began the process of reviewing this product because of the price tag. Ease of Use/Download: The most admirable feature of Registry Fix was the easy to use and simple user interface. It was also an easy interface appearance-wise. This product is for those who want simplicity and want to get problems taken care of without having to understand how to fix registry problem files. Simply put, this software is a beginner's dream compared to many of the other products. Just click and RegistryFix download does the rest. Unique Features: One very unique feature of Registry Fix is an Add/Remove Programs Manager. This feature wasn't found on other software programs reviewed. Many problems are due to improperly added or removed software on our computers. This feature helps manage this in a more detailed way than those simply seeking errors in this category. Another feature not present with most other registry repair tools was a live chat option for support. The chat is open from 5 a.m.-11 p.m. Eastern time seven days a week. There is also a help file attached to the user interface including all aspects of the download, scan, and repair processes. Scanning/Repair Options: Registry Fix met or exceeded the base standards of categories to be scanned. This includes Add/Remove Programs, COM/ActiveX, Complete Registry Scan, File/Path References, File Associations, Help Files, Font Files, Program ID, Invalid Shortcuts, Registry Integrity, Shared Files and Folders, Sounds Section, Startup Programs, System Services, and a place for Virtual Devices. This makes Registry Fix an effective tool to fix registry problem files. Weakness: My Registry Fix download revealed a good number of errors compared to competing PC registry repair programs, but took four rounds to get the errors fixed. Even after Registry Fix showed zero errors, the two other software scans I ran detected over 100 errors. This tells me that you are better off with programs like Registry Easy where you get a ton of features for the price compared to Registry Fix with a first round registry clean up. Problems Fixed/Recommendation: When all is said and done, I cannot find a reason that this product was priced as highly as it was. I give Registry Fix an A+ for ease but a C for features to justify the price tag. Registry Fix is highly recommended for people who don't like the problems associated with "figuring out" software before they can use it. The file descriptions Registry Fix offers after the free scan is done will help the novice user and is great for those seeking a simplistic approach to registry repair fix needs. Just be sure to run the software at least 4-5 times to clear errors. Also, before obtaining the full version, it is best to click on the link below and ensure that a complete registry cleaner is needed based on errors found (if any). Detailed Review The following are Versions of RegistryFix starting with most current:
This Registry Fix review was completed on 6.2 since it is the latest update. The www.registryfix.com website is lean compared to others on explaining features, but has some useful information including the live chat link (hours are limited). Windows Operation Systems Serviced: (no Mac or Linux)
The Registry Fix Review Process: Initial Download After choosing the free scan option at www.registryfix.com the user interface (shown in screen prints page) was downloaded to my hard drive. The download and navigation of the interface were both simple. The following scanning options were presented on the user interface:
As evident from the screen print in the linked page, the Registry Fix download will accommodate either a novice or advanced user as the interface allows a choice of checking files the user wants repaired. Most novice users simply repair all files, which is common. One of the other vital tools is the "backups" feature appearing on the left side of the interface allowing the system to be backed up prior to repair, which allows a user to return to the prior condition if need be. This is a great security feature. All of the best cleaner products in this site have such a feature, so this feature is a given but is a good characteristic to learn and utilize once you download a Windows registry cleaner. Free Scan Process: The free scan detected 1,437 errors which confirmed that my computer was having registry problems and desperately needed repair. The initial scan took just 3 minutes and 22 seconds and only 1 minute and 49 seconds to run a second time for a screen print. The scan speed of any of the reviewed products is dependent upon the number of problems detected and the condition of the PC, so don't weigh speed too much as a purchase criteria. The free version will allow you to click around in the interface, which will give you explanations of most of the features. This will give you a better idea whether or not you will feel comfortable purchasing the full version after the initial scan. A simple overview of such features is included at the end of this Registry Fix review. Scan Completion: Once the scan was complete, RegistryFix gave me a basic description of the problems detected and gave the option through a checked box if I wanted to repair each problem or just selected ones. This custom feature put me in control of what I wanted scanned. This plays to the favor of advanced techies who want to fix corrupt registry files of their choosing. Most novices do not need to worry about this feature. Novices need not be concerned though as the software is designed to do a registry tweaker only on vital files. Some of the surface errors detected can be repaired by the free software, but these are not the errors that are the most impacted by the need for a PC registry fix. Finalizing the Repairs: After choosing the repair button on the interface, the Registry Fix software goes to work repairing the Windows Registry errors detected. When finished, the confirmation screen below shows each file of each successful registry error repair (seen in screen print page) As mentioned above, Registry Fix found 1,437 errors when my system was initially scanned. After repairing these errors I ran two other PC registry fix programs and over 100 errors were still detected. after a couple rounds of scans and repairs, the PC registry repair was complete. I restarted my PC and the performance (speed) of start up was at least 30 percent faster, not to mention that regular operating speeds had greatly improved. Other Observations: Registry Fix has a great live chat feature between 5 a.m. and 11 p.m. Eastern time zone. This is truly unique compared to most of the registry repair tool options. Also Registry fix has a nice BHO feature (like Registry Easy) that removes unneeded plug ins from Internet Explorer. This will allow faster web surfing once a restart of the system has taken place. After completion of the Registry Fix download process, I set up future auto scan options so my tested PC could remain constantly clean. This will allow me to have the peace of mind of not having to run Registry Fix manually each time. So, Should You Try Registry Fix? I would say yes to those who truly want a simplistic experience and don't mind paying an extra $7-$10 for the ease of it. It is truly one of the easiest systems to use. I do, however, advise you to run the free scan before rushing right to their site to get the full version to ensure that you have registry errors. A more power-packed program for your money is Registry Easy. The options are unbeatable and the repairs were higher from the very first run. Still, Registry Fix is a great program and is worth considering. To try Registry Fix, use the link below.
