How Effective is Registry Easy? This Registry Easy Review May Surprise You
Registry Easy 4.0 is latest version of their Windows registry cleaner software and is the one scrutinized in this review. If you are experiencing slow computer problems, need to stop computer crashes, or your are tired of computer freezes, Registry Easy is the best registry fix products to resolve these types of issues. You will find two Registry Easy reviews below. For those looking for a quick overview of the Registry Easy product, please see the "Quick Review" that immediately follows. For those wanting a more extensive description of Registry Easy, the "Detailed Review" is for you. Quick Review: Registry Easy was the first company to respond to me when I sent an initial "time test" email to determine how responsive companies would be to me and my customers before purchasing their registry cleaner download. In just under 30 minutes I received a response from Registry Easy. This impressed me as I am a huge advocate of customer satisfaction. Their attention to detail made me feel like I would be supported with my Registry Easy download when purchased. Ease of Use/Download: The user interface for Registry Easy was simple to download and easy to understand. The personalized scan options made it evident that either a novice or a complete techie could use this software. This is the case with all of the software programs reviewed in this site, but is a vital attribute. Each button on the left side of the user window gives an explanation of what each component does. Unique Features: One very unique feature of Registry Easy that was not discovered in other registry fix programs (other than one) is called the "BHO Manager" which aims at speeding up web surfing by removing unused plug-ins and from Internet Explorer. Also part of the Internet Explorer options was a restore feature that allows for a restore to factory (default) condition and rids of other junk off of IE, which again speeds up the web browser for faster surfing. Between these features and five optimizing features included, Registry Easy exceeded other programs in "extras." Another unique feature of Registry Easy is a blog that they have a link for at registryeasy.com. I reviewed the blog and found it informative for both novice or advanced users. Scanning/Repair Options: Registry Easy met or exceeded the grade on the 12 major scanning category options. This includes Shared Program Paths, Application Paths, File Associations, Active X/Coms/OLE, Font Files, Help Files, Toolbars, Shared DLL Files, Invalid Shortcuts, Most Recent Files, and Startup Files. To add to standard scan options, Registry Easy also has a scan for Junk Files, Evidence Cleaner, and Duplicate Cleaner. This helps make Registry Easy an effective tool to fix registry problem files. Weakness: After a rigorous Registry Easy review, I am at a loss to say anything negative about this product. I was a bit concerned about the help files for the product but was quickly neutralized when the product was solid from download to repair. Also, as mentioned previously, the response time from the support/service team was hands down the best of all the products each of the two times that I contacted them. Problems Fixed/Recommendation: Registry Easy is my top pick of all of the programs to fix Window registry problems. A massive 2,456 errors were detected in my system (which are shown in the screen prints page). After repairing these errors I ran two other PC registry fix programs and none of the previous errors were detected, which makes me feel extremely good about the effectiveness of this product. Registry Easy is competitively priced for their full version at $29.99 for a one year license. Before obtaining the full version, it is best to click on the link below and ensure that a complete registry cleaner is needed based on errors found (if any). Try Registry Easy for Free Now Detailed Review The following are Versions of Registry Easy starting with most current:
This Registry Easy review was completed on Version 4.0 (file size 2.18 MB) since it is the latest update just launched on 11/21/2007. The www.registryeasy.com website offers a full feature listing for their current software in addition to the review done here on the major vital features. Windows Operation Systems Serviced:
The Registry Easy Review Process: Initial Download After choosing the free scan option at www.registryeasy.com the interface displayed in the screen prints page was downloaded to my hard drive. The download and navigating the user interface were both extremely easy. The interface that loaded showed all of the available scanning options. The following were the main categories scanned:
As evident from the screen print in the linked page, The Registry Easy download will accommodate either a novice or advanced user as the interface allows a choice of checking files the user wants repaired. Most novice users simply repair all files, which works fine. One of the other vital tools is the "backups" feature to the left allowing the system to be backed up prior to repair so a user can return to the prior condition if need be. This is a great security feature and will be discussed further at the end of the review. All of the best cleaner products in this site have such a feature, so this feature is a given but is a good feature to learn and utilize once you download a Windows registry cleaner. Free Scan Process: The free scan confirmed that my computer was having registry problems and desperately needed repair. The Registry Easy initial scan found 2,456 problems and took just 2 minutes 40 seconds run a first scan and only 1 minute and 35 seconds to run a second time for a screen print. The scan speed of any of the reviewed products is usually dependent upon the number of problems detected and the condition of the PC, so don't factor this into your buying decision. Feel free to click around in the features in the interface (backups, IE Tools, Optimize System, and System Tools) to get a better understanding before purchasing the full version (if you need to fix registry errors). A simple overview of such features is included at the end of this Registry Easy review. Scan Completion: Once the scan was complete, RegistryEasy gave me a description of the problems detected and gave the option through a checked box if I wanted to repair each problem or just selected ones. This custom feature was nice because the software isn't too assumptive this way. Most novices do not need to worry about this feature. This is meant for "techies" that truly understand how to fix corrupt registry files individually. Novices need not be concerned since the software is designed to optimize the system (though some critics will disagree about all files needing to be repaired). Some of the surface errors found can be repaired by the free software, but these are not the errors that are typically the most impacted by the need for a PC registry fix. Finalizing the Repairs: After choosing the repair button on the left side of the interface, the Registry Easy software goes to work repairing the Windows Registry errors detected. When finished, the confirmation screen below shows each file of each successful registry error repair (seen in Screenprint page) As mentioned above, Registry Easy found 2,456 errors in my system. After repairing these errors I ran two other PC registry fix programs and none of the previous errors were detected, which makes me feel extremely good about the effectiveness of this product. The final test was restarting my PC to see the impact of the registry cleaning. I was amazed at the difference in both startup and quick computer performance after the registry fixer had done its job. Other Observations: I was a bit nervous about Registry Easy only having email support at registryeasy.com since there are some other programs that offer live chat. Registry Easy put me at ease and was fantastic in both my pre order contact and support contact. Registry Easy offers 24-hour email support as well as online and offline help documents to walk the user through any challenges that they may encounter. One nice feature of Registry Easy is the recent addition of optimization tools in their full 4.0 version. This includes a system optimizer (where you can choose PC model type), Block Active X (to protect system), Error Utilities (protects from freezing, crashes, and blue screen), Reregister of Active X (Active X & DLL object registry keys), and Memory Tweak to recover memory space and speed up PC performance. One other feature worth mentioning is the IE (Internet Explorer) Restore. This includes a BHO Manager that removes unused Internet Explorer plug-ins that are slowing internet surfing speeds. There is also an option to restore the IE back to factory (default) condition thus speeding up internet surfing. These features were truly unique to Registry Easy versus the other best registry fix software programs reviewed with the exception of Registry Mechanic. After completion of the Registry Easy download process, I set up future auto scan options so my PC could remain constantly clean. This will allow me to have the peace of mind of not having to run Registry Easy manually over time. So, Should You Try Registry Easy? My opinion is yes. After the extensive research and review of this product (not just reading other people's reviews), I found Registry Easy to be both simple and effective to use. I also found Registry Easy to have a ton of optimization features not common with other registry clean up tools. My Registry Easy review positioned this product as my top pick of the seven. I do, however, advise you to run the free scan before rushing right to their site to get the full version to ensure that you actually have registry errors. Screen Prints of Registry Scan Process
