Will Error Nuker Fix Registry Errors? Find Out the Truth in This Error Nuker Review Error Nuker 2005 is the most up to date version of their software to fix computer registry problems. The 2005 version will be the one reviewed here. If you are experiencing slow computer problems, are trying to stop computer crashes, or experience a computer freeze often, you most likely need to repair Windows registry problems. Most people purchase an up to date virus or spyware program and neither will lead to a registry fix. This was a difficult lesson for me when I couldn't determine the reasons for my computer performance issues and crashes not too long ago. There are two Error Nuker reviews on this page. For those of you looking for a quick overview of the Error Nuker product, please see the "Quick Review" that immediately follows. A more detailed description of Error Nuker is also included in the "Detailed Review" below if you want a more comprehensive look at the product. Quick Review: Error Nuker was the second company of the seven to respond to me when I sent an initial "time test" email to determine how responsive companies would be to me and my customers before purchasing their registry cleaner download. In less than an hour I received a response from Error Nuker. It is important for you and I to feel supported if we are to use a product of this kind. Error Nuker made the grade. Ease of Use/Download: My Error Nuker review started with the free scan. When I downloaded the software platform, I encountered no negative issues. It was neither the easiest or most difficult to use of the Windows registry cleaner reviews done on this site. Like the others, Error Nuker allows for either a full scan to be completed (see screen print page for Error Nuker), or a choice of cleaning individual file categories, for more advanced users. Unique Features: One very unique feature of Error Nuker that was not discovered in other registry fix programs was how security-oriented the software was. Instead of aggressively choosing files to delete or modify, Error Nuker was careful not to be overly assumptive. This can save a great deal of headaches later since one wrong deleted registry key could lead to disaster on your computer. Other software has a backup just in case, but it is still good for a software to know its bounds. The opposite side of the coin is negative. By being too conservative, many errors can remain undetected or fixed. I only found 606 errors during my ErrorNuker download when other registry tweak software downloads were finding 1,000 errors or more. Scanning/Repair Options: Error Nuker met or exceeded the grade on the 12 major scanning category options. This includes Shared Program Paths, Application Paths, File Associations, Active X/Coms/OLE, Font Files, Help Files, Toolbars, Shared DLL Files, Invalid Shortcuts, Most Recent Files, and Startup Files. This helped make Error Nuker an effective tool to fix registry problem files. Weaknesses: After a rigorous Error Nuker review, there are some optimization tools which could have served as useful. Registry Easy still dominates in this category. I would have also liked to see a few additional scan options like junk files, and evidence cleaners like Registry Easy has, but this element isn't vital. For the highest price of the reviewed products, $39.95, I expected more features from Error Nuker 2005. Problems Fixed/Recommendation: Error Nuker fixed all of 606 errors detected and did it effectively on the first round. In my opinion, this alone makes the software worthy of purchase as many of the Microsoft registry fix software programs have a terrible time cleaning off detected errors. Like the other best registry cleaner software products reviewed, I ran pre and post scans from two other programs to ensure that errors were fixed compared to the initial errors detected. The best complete registry cleaner, in my opinion, is still Registry Easy. If you are still considering Error Nuker 2005, before purchasing the full version of the program, do the free scan to determine if you actually have registry errors before investing in the full version. Detailed Review The following are Versions of Error Nuker starting with most current:
Some people also search for an Error Nuker 2006, but no such version exists yet. This Error Nuker review was completed on the 2005 version since it is the latest update of Error Nuker as of 12/2/2007. The www.errornuker.com website offers more details about the product features on this version, in addition to the review done here on the vital features needed in a registry clean up. Windows Operation Systems Serviced: (no Mac or Linux)
The Error Nuker Review Process: Initial Download After visiting www.errornuker.com and clicking on the free scan option, the user interface (shown in screen print page) was downloaded to my hard drive. The download and navigation of the user interface were average in appearance but easy to use. Scanning options in the user interface displayed available scanning options in the following categories:
Free Scan Process: The free scan of Error Nuker confirmed that Window registry problems existed on my computer. I had 606 total errors, which was in conflict with other programs where I had 1,000-2,500. The initial scan took 5 minutes and 2 seconds. Yet, even after running other scanners, Error Nuker found 335 errors mostly in the in the area of “Shortcuts” but also 49 in the area of File Extension Reference. This confirmed my need for a full version repair. The scan speed of any of the reviewed products is dependent upon the number of problems detected and the condition of the PC, so it is best not to make time a pivotal part in your purchasing decision. Error Nuker exceeded the basic scan category options (see the table above to see the mentioned options). Scan Completion: Once the scan was complete, Error Nuker gave the option of which files to repair. This makes Error Nuker 2005 a good fit for both beginners and advanced registry repair users. Some of the surface errors can be repaired by the free scan software, but these are not the errors that are the most impacted by the need for a PC registry fix. You will need to purchase the full version to accomplish the needed registry cleanup. Finalizing the Repairs: After the initial scan was complete, a repair option appears in the lower right part of the user interface. The Error Nuker software goes to work repairing the Windows Registry errors detected as seen in the screen print page. After repair, I ran two other PC registry fix programs and none of the previous errors were detected. This tells me that the product is effective in fixing the detected errors. There was a noticeable difference in the speed of my PC after the repair. Other Observations: Error Nuker was very quick to respond to questions I had. I made up questions to ask them just to test response time. By responding so quickly, I felt good about letting people know that they would be supported by the company even though email support is the only option. Error Nuker also offers thorough online help documents as well as those attached to the user interface. You will see a screen print of the help file on the screen print page. So, Should You Try Error Nuker? If you want an effective registry repair that will be conservative and will only fix major issues, Error Nuker 2005 is for you. Though other programs have more scanning and registry optimize options, Error Nuker does the intended job of registry clean up. My top pick is still Registry Easy due to the number of features for the price. If you are still considering Error Nuker, start by ensuring that registry errors are present by doing the free scan below. |
