Are Slow Computer
Problems Costing You Your Sanity?
The Following
Six Steps Will Cure Your Challenges
Slow
computer problems can decrease the speed of your computer, cause your internet
to run like a turtle, and can damage the electronic components within your PC.
There are many people pitching one miracle cure to fix all issues with one
product. Be weary as it takes multiple steps to make a difference. Many of the
actions are free, which is nice!
This page offers details of the steps needed to
fix slow computer problems. You will notice a difference from a few actions
alone. The large difference will be noticed when you combine the steps below.
Step One: Do a Free Scan from an
Effective Registry Repair Product. If errors are found, you can then pay for
the repair option (which is applied in seconds after purchased). This will help
establish a more efficient central file system in your computer and will also
condense the size of the files in the registry. Errors will be removed and the
registry will be optimized if one of the better software programs is used.
The best registry cleaner that we have reviewed
is called Registry Easy. It has more features for the money than other software
programs, including registry repair tools, cleaners, and optimizers that will
remove plug ins. Registry Easy also has plug in removers for Internet Explorer.
You can't go wrong having a registry cleaner on your system to use throughout
the year. Be sure to do the free download and scan your system before purchasing
the repair function in the software to ensure legitimate errors.

Step Two: Purchase an Effective Spyware
Product and Run it. This will eliminate hurtful Spyware, Adware, Malware,
and Viruses on your computer.
The reason for doing this is self-explanatory.
All systems should have a good spyware program installed due to the number of
idiots out there creating problems for the rest of us. This software will remove
Worms, Trojans and other hurtful viruses. It will also keep data miners from
spying on you continually.
One well-versed software program to help you
complete this step is XoftSpy SE. You will get a good number of features for the
price and the interface is extremely easy to use. Be sure to use the software on
a regular basis as a lot can happen each time you log on to your PC.

Step Three: Utilize Your Operating
System’s Tools to Free up Hard Drive Space. This task can be accomplished by
going to Start > Accessories > System Tools > and then choose your option. There
is a Disk Cleanup, Disk Defragmentor, and a System Restore feature that will
allow you to set a "restore point" for that day so you can always go back if you
don't like the changes created. Hold off on doing a full system restore unless
absolutely necessary because it is a lot of work and time consuming.
The key for this step is to open some room on
your hard drive and to condense the current files on your PC.
Step Four: Eliminate Any Unused Software From
Your PC. If you haven't used a program in months or years and you are just
being a Pack Rat without a cause, remove the programs off your system so it
doesn't cost you time every day.
Choose Start > Control Panel > Add or Remove
Programs > you can then choose the programs you wish to remove from the
installed programs list and rid of them. If you don't anticipate using the
programs in the next 4-6 months, rid of them. You can always add later if
needed. You will feel great about traveling light again.
Step Five: Remove History and Temporary
Internet Files off Your Internet Explorer Browser (Settings > Internet
Options). This will make surfing easier, which is a large part of why most
people use the computer in the first place. It won't hurt to do this since you
are on the quest to make your PC more efficient.
Step Six: If Needed, Do a Full System
Restore. This can take some effort, so only do this if the other steps
didn’t fix the problem. Make sure to restart your computer to let the other
changes take effect before doing a restore.
It is best to organize all of your CDs before
starting the restore. Also make sure you have the system restore CD that came
with your computer and place it in the hard drive prior to booting up your
computer. Upon boot up, the instructions will appear on your screen.
The time and energy invested in this process will pay off dearly for you. You
will notice your system performance difference in no time at all. Computers can
be frustrating enough without additional performance issues. Make sure to
perform these steps several times a year for safe measure. Also be sure to use
compressed air to clean out the CPU portion of your computer to also avoid
problems. Slow computer problems will become non-existent.
